A day full of live music, family fun, food and drink will be returning to Pound Ridge on Saturday, Oct. 7. The 11th annual Pound Ridge Harvest Festival is slated for 1 p.m. at the Town Park.
The event is being produced by the Pound Ridge Partnership and presented by Sony Hall. It also is the Partnership’s main fundraiser of the year.
This year’s music headliner is Galactic, featuring Anjelika “Jelly” Joseph, which has been performing its funk-driven sound for 25 years. The opening musical acts are local groups Freedom Rockets and Guard Hill, which were chosen as winners of the Partnership’s Battle of the Bands.
This year’s Harvest Festival is being co-chaired by Kevin Long and Melinda Velez.
“I am a long-standing co-chairperson of this event and one of the founding members,” Mr. Long commented. “I do a little bit of everything to have the festival go off without a hitch. My specialty is logistics and operation.”
Mr. Long said this week a new feature of this year’s event is a “Wizardry Experience” to go along with games and rides for children.
Another feature geared toward children is a Root Beer Garden, Mr. Long said. He recalled how the idea for the Root Beer Garden came about.
