An Eco Afternoon in Pound Ridge

In honor of Earth Day and Arbor Day, join the Pound Ridge Partnership for An Eco Afternoon, Sunday April 27th, from 12pm to 4pm. 

Community organizations and sustainable vendors are coming together, at Pound Ridge Square, to highlight earth-friendly initiatives. Have a question, just ask one of our experts. Enjoy food, live music, eco demos, sustainable shopping and giveaways, crafts and other kids activities, all while you learn about ways to can make your home, garden and lives more sustainable. With over 30 participants, there’s something for everyone!

Textile Recycling – Acceptable Materials

Textiles are to consist of all wearable clothing items from households plus paired shoes, pocketbooks, draperies and other household textiles, such as curtains, sheets, bed spreads and bed throws, towels of any size and pillowcases. All articles shall be free from any wetness, moisture, grease, mold, solvents or food waste.

Unacceptable textiles – should exclude rugs, carpets, and pillows, industrial uniforms, disposable clothing, hospital or medical garments and diapers (of any type). Also, do not include other industrial textiles such as tobacco cloth, painters’ drop cloths, theatrical curtains, textile waste, wiping rags and shop towels.

Used Toys
Soft, Stuffed Toys. No Hard Toys. No large bulky toys.

Used Shoes
All paired, rubber band or laced tied .
All clean and wearable. No Junk, All paired/No skates/No heels over 1.5″ No winter boots/No
gummies or flip-flops.No women’s boots over ankle height.

While in town, don’t forget to stop by our amazing local businesses, some of whom will have Earth Day specials for An Eco Afternoon, as well as the PRBA’s Made In NY Market on the Green.
