Juneteenth in Pound Ridge

Continuing our tradition of celebrating Juneteenth with live music, this year we were thrilled to welcome Tamar Greene and Stephanie Umoh of Hamilton acclaim, local musician Josh Sette accompanying on piano, and singer and former Pound Ridge resident, Alia MunschMany thanks to Dan Micciche (music director of Wicked on Broadway) and Hit It Productions for helping to organize our second annual event, which was co-hosted by Pound Ridge Partnership and the Human Rights Advisory Committee (HRAC), along with the Pound Ridge Library and Pound Ridge Library Foundation. The HRAC is proud to be a grantee of ArtsWestchester with funding made possible by Westchester County government with the support of County Executive George Latimer.

Last year, Pound Ridge Partnership and the HRAC co-hosted a free jazz concert on the Green in Scotts Cornerstheir first joint Juneteenth celebration. Residents enjoyed live jazz music by The Alison Shearer Quartet, led by critically acclaimed jazz saxophonist and Katonah native Alison Shearer, with Kevin Bernstein on keys, Marty Kenney on bass, and Horace Phillips on drums.
