The Pound Ridge Partnership Elects New President and Adds Four New Board Members

The Pound Ridge Partnership’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Pound Ridge residents Terri Pike, Susan Grissom, Kevin Long, and Dennis Mele have been elected to serve on its Board of Directors.  James Best was elected to serve as President of the Pound Ridge Partnership Board of Directors at the February Board of Directors Meeting.

“The election of our newest board members brings the total Board of Directors of the Pound Ridge Partnership up to 8 members,” according to Board Member Valerie Price.  “Good governance by a qualified and dedicated group of individuals is critical to the success and long term sustainability of an organization.”

Terri Pike and Susan Grissom have served as Co-Chairs of the Beautification Committee since the Partnership was formed in April 2010.  They have been responsible for spearheading the Pound Ridge Pride Festival , the installation of the new pocket park, and both are members of the Green Streets Committee working with the Pound Ridge Business Association to upgrade the streetlights in the Scotts Corners Business District.

Kevin Long has served as co-chair of the Partnership’s Harvest Festival for the past two years.   Harvest Festival, which has brought thousands of people to Pound Ridge to enjoy live music, food and spirits from local purveyors, and visit local shops and art galleries, raises funds to be invested in the community through the Partnership’s many projects.

Dennis Mele  has been active in the Partnership since its inception and is the Chair of the Pound Ridge Partnership’s Architectural Committee.

James Best, Chairman of the Partnership’s Infrastructure Committee, is working to find solutions to the acute water and sewage issues facing Scotts Corners Business District.  He is part of the County Septic Sub-Committee chaired by Peter Harckham.  James is also a member of the Green Streets Committee.

“I am very pleased with the election of James Best as the President of the Board of Directors,” says Ali Boak, co-founder of the Pound Ridge Partnership.  “James has the skills, the vision, and the knowledge, and has been intimately involved in many of the Partnership’s projects, to lead and grow this new but dynamic organization.”
